![]() When results came in that our blend had earned a DOUBLE GOLD, we were ecstatic. We released our 2013 Grande Rouge in January 2016 with a wine pairing dinner and later submitted the wine for competition at the San Fransisco International wine competition, along with several of our other estate wines. This wine was blended out of the best barrels of each varietal and aged to perfection. August 2012 the first vintage of Grandview wines were bottled! Although we were granted our license in 2012 and had our FIRST SALE on Thanksgiving Day 2012 (what a wonderful thing to be thankful for!), the tasting room was not completed and ready for reveal until January 2013.Ģ013 was a wonderful year for our grape harvest, and we were able to produce our very first vintage of Grande Rouge, a Bordeaux style estate blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The brothers contributed in their area of gifting, with Nathan helping in construction, sound, and website and Reuben installing the hardwood floors. Marilyn held everything together in the office. ![]() Despite working other jobs and managing families with little kids, Sarah and Fran began marketing and the guys continued to work hard in the vineyard and with tasting room construction throughout 2012. Grapes from the 2011 harvest were transported to another facility for winemaking, as the winery was not yet completed. In 2011 The Vineyard at Grandview, LLC was formed and the we began construction on the winery and tasting room. (Larry says that Sal Maiolatesi wanted to buy our 2011 Cab Sauv as well, saying that it was the best he had ever bought. All the grapes harvested in 2010 were sold to Maiolatesi Wine Cellars. He rejoined the family for the Cabernet Sauvignon harvest. Unfortunately Larry had sustained a broken hip after being kicked by a cow earlier in the week, and therefore was unable to participate. I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else, so I'm telling my side of the story.ĭO NOT BOOK UR WEDDING HERE - Do yourself a favor and find another venue that will treat you and your partner with RESPECT.With the help of many friends, we harvested our first crop – 4,375 pounds of Pinot Noir grapes. ![]() I would never dream of this happening to us but it did and its terrible. Sure people make mistakes but this just felt so COLD HEARTED. ![]() We couldn't get any of our personal items the day after our wedding. This left a HORRIBLE taste in our mouths and it's something we will never forget. It felt EXTREMELY unprofessional, spiteful, and malicious. Would anyone or any bride ever want to hear that THE DAY AFTER THEIR WEDDING?! All of those beautiful sentimental items are GONE and why? Because the staff at Grandview Vineyard does NOT care about any of the couples that get married at their venue. I didn't know what to do, the last thing they told me was that all of our items were "thrown out". The marketing/sales rep that I was speaking with during this time would not answer my texts or calls anymore. Those personal sentimental items were: our unity candle, my wedding bouquet, our wedding cake top tier, our memorial table photos + frames, 10 large decorative glass lanterns, every sign for each vendor (6-8 signs), 150 candle votives, 150 battery powered candles, and some metal easels. Grandview's staffing would not allow us to pick up any of our sentimental/personal belongings left behind at the venue. Then the ABSOLUTE WORST thing any newly married couple wants to hear the day after their wedding. Which was odd to us because we had purchased the second highest "Unlimited Package" at the vineyard. The bartenders that were staffed/hired via Grandview were extremely rude to our guests, they would not restock the bar, they even complained about it. However, that delight & pure happiness was sadly crushed. The biggest issue we had was with the STAFFING at Grandview Vineyard. Finally the day of the wedding is here and it the most perfect beautiful day. Little odd so much turnover in a such a short amount of time. However throughout this wedding planning journey we hit some minor and LARGE speed bumps with Grandview Vineyard.įor starters, during the wedding planning process with Grandview we went through three different "wedding sales/marketing coordinators" through the span of one year leading up to the wedding. I fell in love with the beauty of the vineyard and its simplicity, it really is a lush vineyard. Happy couples BEWARE before you choose this venue for your big day.
